Commissioners approve jail bids, finish worker COVID-19 journey coverage | Information


Department County Worker Journey Coverage was implement again in March because of COVID-19, seven bids for work on the jail totaling over $4.Four million had been formally accepted


COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Department County Board of Commissioners formally accepted over $4.Four million value of bids for building work on the new Department County Jail Tuesday afternoon. 

The whole value was beneath what was anticipated as seven bids had been accepted. The most important was for masonry work and it was awarded to Bracy and Jahr of Quincy at over $1.6 million. 

Cook dinner Jackson acquired the carpentry bid at over $626,000. Division 7 Constructing Contractor received the roofing job with a bid of over $362,000.

Steel Wall Panel work was awarded to Architectural Glass and Metals at over $544,000, Battle Creek Glass received the Glass and Glazing job with a bid of slightly below $80,000, Basic Trades work was awarded to Schweitzer, Incoporated with a bid of over $833,000 whereas Ryan Hearth Safety acquired the Hearth Safety job with a bid of over $402,000.

Work on the brand new jail is scheduled to be completed in September 2021.

In different enterprise, commissioners determined to remove the COVID-19 journey coverage for county workers that has been in impact since late March. Commissioners felt it was now not wanted because the Governor’s Keep at Residence order has been lifted.
