David Furnish’s father has died.
The Canadian filmmaker – who has sons Zachary, 9, and Elijah, seven, with husband Sir Elton John – paid a touching tribute to his dad Jack following his loss of life on the age of 90, hailing him for constructing a “platform of stable and loving familial stability” that helped him and his brothers John and Peter to “flourish”.
David wrote on Instagram: “My father handed away peacefully final night time on the age of 90.
“Dad overcame the traumas of his circle of relatives being torn aside by each World Wars. He sought solace and luxury within the loving arms of my mom, and constructed a platform of stable and loving familial stability wherein we may all flourish.”
The 58-year-old star went on to reward his father for having the ability to “be taught and develop” all through his life and be supportive of his relationship with the ‘Crocodile Rock’ singer.
He continued: “Dad was an old style conservative, who seen life by the restricted lens he was given from a closely disrupted upbringing.
“Like most conservatives, Dad feared what he did not know. However he by no means ceased to amaze me along with his capability to be taught and develop, as his sons expanded his horizons by our personal life experiences. He was current on the start of each of my sons and filled with pleasure for Elton and me.
“Dad is with Mum now. The place he at all times wished to be most.”
And David admitted his personal parenthood has been influenced by his father.
He concluded: “Thanks for all that did for me Dad. You inspired me to be impartial and robust. To consider that I may obtain my objectives in life by arduous work and kindness. Classes that I move on to my very own sons each day.”
